Overview

Spiti Valley, frequently referred to as "The Middle Land" due to its position between India and Tibet, is a high- altitude cold desert that offers one of the most rugged and ethereal travel experiences in the world. The world's highest post office is located in the village of Hikkim in Spiti. Spiti also hides some truly fascinating cultural secrets and sustainable traditions.

  • Summer (March to June): Ideal for sightseeing and adventure sports with pleasant temperatures between 10°C and 25°C.
  • Winter (October to February): Best for witnessing snowfall and engaging in winter sports like skiing; temperatures can drop below -5°C.

Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Chandigarh / Delhi to Shimla

Transfer from Chandigarh / Delhi to Shimla. Overnight stay.

Day 02: Shimla to Sarahan

After breakfast visiting Shimla local sigtheseeing - Mall Road, Scandel Point, The Ridge, Christ Church and Mall Road. After that proceeds to Sarahan via Kufri.

Day 03: Bheemakali Temple (Sarahan) to Sangla

Sightseeing of Bheemakali Temple in Sarahan.

The Bheemakali Temple is the crown jewel of Sarahan and one of the most stunning examples of hill architecture in India. It is revered as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Legend says that the ear of Goddess Sati fell here.

After that departure for Sangla.

Day 04: Sangla and Chhitkul

Sightseeing of Sangla Valley and Chhitkul.

Enjoy the evening beautiful surroundings in the river valley of Baspa at the height of 9000 ft. This is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalaya and is often compared to the famous valley of Kashmir. Known for its rich Kinnauri culture and the apple orchards.

Chhitkul, the final village before Indo-China border, showcases stunning Himalayan scenery. You can also explore the renowned ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for delightful meals.

Day 05: Sangla to Kalpa

Check out from the hotel and resume your cab journey towards the quaint town of Kalpa, situated on the banks of Sutlej River. Retrace towards Karcham and take a left turn from Powari to reach the main town of the Kinnaur district, ReoKong Peo. Continue to reach Kalpa and have a comfortable overnight stay in a camp / homestay, from where you can witness the beauty of Kinnaur Kailash Peak.

Day 06: Kalpa to Tabo

Check out from the hotel and embark on a road journey to Tabo via Nako Lake. On your way, cross the Khab Bridge and the merging of Spiti & Satluj Rivers. Stop at Nako Lake for lunch. Continue via Sumdo, turning right to explore Gue Monastery. Proceed to Tabo Monastery, the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’.

Day 07: Tabo to Kaza

Check out from the hotel and embark on a road journey to Kaza, a beautiful town in the Spiti Valley.

Day 08: Kaza Sightseeing

Wake up and get ready to begin the sightseeing tour around Kaza. Begin by exploring the grand Key Monastery with its historic murals and weaponry. Head towards Langza Village and visit Lang Temple. Then, visit Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office. Continue to Komik, Asia’s highest Village.

Day 09: Kaza to Chandratal Lake

Check out from the hotel / homestay in Kaza and begin your journey to Chandratal Lake. Experience a scenic journey amidst the Himalayas. Beyond Kunzum La Pass, take a right, 4 km before Batal. Reach Chandratal Lake and camp overnight by this crescent-shaped gem, immersing in its unbinding beauty.

Day 10: Chandratal Lake to Manali

Check-out from the camps and start riding towards Manali via Atal Tunnel. Upon arrival in Manali, settle into the hotel for a brief respite. Roam the charming Mall Road or seek solace at the revered Hadimba Devi Temple.

Day 11: Manali to Chandigarh / Delhi
