Dharamshala Dalhousie Package

Dharamshala Dalhousie Tour Package from Chandigarh

Overview

Dharamshala and Dalhousie are the two major pillars of Western Himachal, often visited together due to their proximity (about 120 km apart). While they share the Dhauladhar mountain backdrop, their "personalities" are entirely different.

Dharamshala is essentially two towns. Lower Dharamshala is a commercial hub, while Upper Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj) is the spiritual home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community in exile. Dalhousie is spread across five hills and retains a distinct British colonial charm. It is quieter and more spread out.

Best Time to Visit

  • Summer (March to June): Ideal for sightseeing and adventure sports with pleasant temperatures between 10°C and 25°C.
  • Winter (October to February): Best for witnessing snowfall and engaging in winter sports like skiing; temperatures can drop below -5°C.
